With a lush interior spread across the chain of volcanoes that straddle Central Africa, Rwanda has a comfortable climate and some of the most fertile soil in Africa. The mountains themselves are home to one of the last populations of mountain gorillas on earth, making this one of the few places where you can come face to face with these magnificent animals in the wild. The tragic days of the genocide are long gone and today Rwanda is a stable and relatively prosperous country.
