The people I met along the way and the elephant safari
Excellent. He took every opportunity to show us the real Sri Lanka. Nothing was too much trouble and he made organising 16 people and keeping them safe look effortless.
Absolutelyl we ate in local truck stops, reataurants and familiy homes. Supporting the local people with souvenir purchases.
100%. The guide Sampath made that possible by going out of his way to ensure we experienced the way of life of the locals
Book Sri Lanka now, you wont be disappointed!

All of it! I really enjoyed the variety(I chose the tour because it was so varied) and found all of it interesting and memorable.
Brilliant! The best tour leader we have ever had on any tour. Ajit was very knowledgable on all aspects, but also he went way beyond what he needed to, took us to many extra things to show us his country and was also excellent company with a wonderful sense of humour when he stayed up talking well into the night.
Yes - our tour leader took us to local people for lunch - helping employment of locals.
Yes - helped greatly by our tour leader. Ajit's eagerness for us to understand his country knew no bounds. He also enabled us to travel by rail in style after the tour by arranging for Observation Coach tickets on our rail trip(see below).
Do this tour and ask for Ajit as the tour leader. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and all the people we met were very friendly and helpful. Once the tour is completed if possible spend more time in Sri Lanka and travel by rail from Columbo to Badulla staying overnight at Bandalawera - a marvellous trip!

It was all memorable
Excellent
I would like to think so. Our tour guide and driver were local people and most hotels were run by local people
This is difficult to say. A tour like this is always a rush, with little time for really getting to know a place, but it was chosen to see as much in s short a time as possible, so it was a conscious choice
This was the best tour I have taken of its kind and other than recommendeing the tour itself, I have no further recomendations

Do you know what, I remember so much of it, there's lots of points that stick in my mind, that's how good it was!
Excellent, every question, even if it wasn't to do with the tour was answered - our tour leader had so much passion for the tour and the country it was totally infectious!
Always difficult to say really, I generally believe that by being there (and being conscious) is benefiting local people, but yes, the monies given and some of the activities we did proved how Imaginative Traveller had thought about what they were doing.
Absolutely - it got under my skin too, truly beautiful and gem in the Indian Ocean, so many people only see the beaches, which to me, now, seems such a waste!
If adventure and culture (mixed with a great climate) is what you're after, don't hesitate to book this now!

It is such a difficult decision, because it was all wonderful, but visiting the elephant orphanage was extraordinary
Our tour leader was great for the majority of the tour. He found extra things for us to see and always gave us the option to do even more than the itinery. He was enthusiatic, knowledgeable and passionate about his country.
In a small way: we ate in local restaurants, shopped in local shops. And we continue telling everyone to visit Sri Lanka on holiday
I feel that we really 'experienced' the country. We started to understand the culture, politics, education, beliefs and attitudes. I feel capable of giving an informed outsiders view of Sri Lanka.
Go with an open mind and soak up every bit of it that you can. Eat in local places and learn that we can learn a huge amount from them.

Hi, I'm booked on the sri lanka dsicovery tour in april and just reading through the special requirements it says we need a sleeping sheet for camping. Can anyone advise me on what type of mat we need please? Is it a camping mat a kind of foam rolled mat or a waterproof ground sheet? Thanks Sam
Okay I bought all of my tickets, so I am wondering if the May 9th Sri Lanka 14 day trip is guaranteed yet?
Hi In the Sri Lanka dossier it says that you need to get a single entry visa before your trip. In the list of countries supplied by the visa company you recommend it says that no visa is needed prior to travel as free one will be issued at Sri Lanka airport. Please advise Thank you Julie
I am booked on this tour and wanting to buy my airline tickets as this is part of three months of travel. When will I know if this trip is guaranteed to go? I have already made my flights into and out of Sri Lanka before I was told it was not guaranteed. Please advise on May 9th trip! Thank you.
Hi I'm arriving 3 days early and staying 3 days after the trip. If you are on this trip and want to meet up please leave a message at the hotel reception. Looking forward to meeting up soon! Steve
