An overland adventure across Mexico, starting in vibrant Mexico City and ending on the sandy shores of lively Cancun
Our Mexican adventure starts in the huge metropolis of Mexico City and nearby Teotihuacan, once Mexico's largest ancient city and home to the huge Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. Our next stop is the Spanish-built city of Oaxaca, where we can explore lively markets or relax in one of the many cafes, before visiting Monte Alban, the ancient capital of the Zapotecs. San Cristobal is a charming town with a lively, bohemian atmosphere and is home to many indigenous Indian communities. Further on is Palenque, with its magnificent jungle ruins and pristine waterfalls. We cross the Rio Usumacinta into the Yucatan Peninsula and continue on to Merida, where we visit the Mayan sites of Uxmal and Chichen Itza.

Our journey comes to an end at the lively holiday city of Cancun.

Trip Itinerary
- Day 1-3(Sun) Arrive in Mexico City and transfer to hotel. Excursion to Teotihuacan ruins. City tour including the Anthropology Museum.
- Day 4Drive to Oaxaca via the beautiful town of Puebla.
- Day 5Explore Oaxaca and Monte Alban.
- Day 6Drive to Chiapa de Corzo.
- Day 7-8Visit Sumidero and continue to San Cristobal. Explore town and surrounding Indian villages.
- Day 9-10Drive to Palenque, visit waterfalls and Mayan jungle ruins. Continue to Campeche.
- Day 11-12Drive to Merida. Explore Merida city and Uxmal.
- Day 13-14Visit magnificent Chichen Itza ruins. Continue to Cancun; free day, or visit sandy beaches of Playa del Carmen.
- Day 15Trip ends in Cancun this morning (Sun).
